   Like any poncho, this one has some gaps in the sides. The smaller your child, the bigger the gaps will be. For my 5-year-old, I’m pretty sure *she* could have fit through some of those gaps. The bottom of the poncho easily covered her feet, which I feel is a bit too long for a poncho for an active child.It also has that “pool raft vinyl” smell to it, which my daughter hates and for me brings back memories of pre-teen pool parties. There’s a hood, but it fits her head perfectly. I use “but” in the previous sentence because since the rest of the poncho is too big at the moment, if the hood is just right it means that when the rest of the poncho is the correct size, the hood will be too small.It is nicely packable, and I’m sure it would work in a pinch, but at the moment, it’s too flappy and unwieldy for me to force her to wear it on an every-rainy-day basis.

   Great for kids. It’s not super thick nor super thin. It’s just right and does the job. Fits both my 4’5 60lbs and my 5’2 90lbs boys both with a backpack on.

   Ordered because my kiddo needed to supply a poncho for daycamp. As it turned out, it never rained during camp, but he did use it to sit on during some lawn time.At the price point, I did not care if it survived camp week, but it did with no rips or stretches or lost snaps, and now we have one for future use, so I consider that a good value.I liked that it was simply designed, covered my grade-schooler more than adequately, and he was easily able to put it on by himself after showing him once how to do it. It’s a good weight, less than a tarp but more than a plastic bag, and I think it would’ve done a fine job of keeping my kiddo’s clothes dry had he needed to use it. Very satisfied overall.
